The Republic of Moldova established diplomatic relations with Hellenic Republic on March 27, 1992, on the day when the Agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Hellenic Republic was signed. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova was opened in Hellenic Republic, in Athens, on 2003.

In Chisinau, Greece established an Honorary Consulate, headed by Mr. Gheorghe DUCA.
In Chania, Crete, the Hellenic Republic, an Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova was established, headed by Mr. Ioannis THEODOROGLAKIS.
